About us

Property law guidance for England and Wales

Plain-English guides to buying, selling and registering property, and to what happens to a house after a death.

What the site does

Property Law Online explains residential property law in England and Wales in plain English: conveyancing, transfers of equity, HM Land Registry forms such as TR1, TP1, FR1, AP1, AS1, DJP, DS1, SEV and RX1, property searches, statutory declarations, deeds of trust, wills, and selling or transferring a house once the grant of probate is in hand. Each guide links to the official sources it relies on.

Where we stand

Property Law Online is preparing to open as a conveyancing practice regulated by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers. We are not yet authorised to carry out reserved legal work, and we will not act for anyone until we are.

The guides are general information, not advice on your own matter. If you have a question, tell us what you need and we will reply by email.
